TrailTroopers April 2016 Race Review

TrailTroopers Race Review April 2016 – Chatelherhault
The venue was easy to find, only a short distance from the M74 motorway, as well as easily accessible from the local railway station. There was plenty of free parking available and the venue hosted an onsite café and visitor centre, offering runners a place to shelter or refresh, as well as an option for spectators.

After parking it was just a short walk to registration. Quick and easy with separate queues for each race.

1000 Mile Challenge

The concept is simple, the challenge is not, you will have from 01 January 2016 to 31 December 2016 to complete 1000 running miles - gym, training and event miles are all valid.

By taking part in the challenge you will be able to track performance against fellow runners as well as the target runner (basically a virtual pacemaker). Progress tables will be updated on a weekly basis and all successful participants will earn themselves the exclusive OCR Scotland 1000 miles medal.

Tinsel Dash Race Review

This was our second time at Tinsel Dash and this year it was based on the grounds of Chatelherault Country Park, near Hamilton. Arriving early at the venue, we were welcomed by heavy rain, extreme winds and the freezing cold!

A quick dash to the registration tent, and in a matter of minutes it was done. Straight back to the car for some heat and to escape from the ever worsening rain.

World's Toughest Mudder Interview

Earlier this week we had the opportunity to interview Top European Finisher, and 5th in the World, Scott Brown, on how he got on at World's Toughest Mudder.

For those who don't know, World's Toughest Mudder is probably the most extreme obstacle challenge to take on. The course is built upon the desert sands of Las Vegas, and sees runners battle against both an extreme course and extreme temperatures. The aim is to complete the most 5-mile course laps in 24 hours, with this year's winner managing an impressive 95miles.

OCR Awards Ceremony

OCR Scotland, in association with Entry Central, are proud to announce the launch of the first Obstacle Course Racing Scotland Awards Ceremony!

The evening will recognise outstanding achievement and contribution to the OCR community, but more importantly it's an excuse to PARTY.

UK OCR Community League

A few weeks ago we announced that the UK OCR Community league will launch for the Scotland region on 03 January 2016.

Well we thought it was about time we told you a bit more about it . . .
