The Royal British Legion Major Series is back and this year was completely different from last. The new and improved challenge navigated its way through a variety of military themed zones, each with different challenges. The event offers a 5km or 10km option and provides a great challenge for all fitness levels.

Race Overview

Ruff Dugger is a trail / mud / obstacle run that you can take part in with or without your dog and it is Scotland’s leading obstacle run for runners with their dogs. This venue for the race was in Innerleithen on the scenic grounds of the Traquair Estate.

Race Overview

This was our second time at Tinsel Dash and this year it was based on the grounds of Chatelherault Country Park, near Hamilton. Arriving early at the venue, we were welcomed by heavy rain, extreme winds and the freezing cold!

A quick dash to the registration tent, and in a matter of minutes it was done. Straight back to the car for some heat and to escape from the ever worsening rain.

This was our 3rd year at Survival of the fittest; and with our biggest team yet – 31 of us in wave 7 and a few more heading out in earlier waves.

This was one of my favourite OCR events of 2014, we could not wait to head up to Aberdeen to do it all over again. More obstacles and a longer than 5k course this year with an added Ninja Challenge and Tyre flipping contest at the finish line, what more could crazy OCR people want.
